My Mother in an email to a friend, on Anthony Bourdain’s “No Reservations” episode about the Azores (her home country).

We actually returned Sunday and were home. Did not answer the phone because I was watching him. I had been a fan until yesterday - he was rude and picked really non typical people. I actually like the smell of furnas - it is sulfur and the best natural spa in the world is there, it is a magical place and I wished he had fallen on his rude pompous ass. I bet someone did not put up with his diva bullshit, you know we Azoreans have that intuition… He did not want to show how beautiful it actually is.  My friend the PRESIDENT will hopefully bar him from our country, better yet I hope they served him some bad meat and he is still suffering and in need of antibiotics, shall I continue??? The AZOREAN curse never fails, the people of Furnas are very powerful and very in tune with their volcano you just watch  what happens to Tony B. I will show you myself and we will bathe in the hot springs .
