CitiCard Security (or lack thereof)

I get offers and promotions from CitiCard about protecting my identity and my credit all the time.  I deny them… all the time.  I just got a new credit card from Citi today in the mail, because my account was “at risk.”  I called them to find out why.  Apparently, my account was one of thousands of “compromised accounts.”  So much for that security, huh?
